DayMusic is a local lossless music player that prioritizes your privacy. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on our servers. All your data remains on your device and optionally in your personal iCloud account, which only you control.

Information We Store

DayMusic stores all data locally on your device and optionally in your personal iCloud account. We do not have servers and cannot access your data.

Data Stored on Your Device and iCloud

When you use DayMusic, the following information may be stored:

Music Library Data:

Imported music files (FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, APE, DSD, MP3, AAC)
Song metadata (title, artist, album, duration, sample rate, bit depth)
Playlists you create

App Preferences:

EQ equalizer settings and custom presets
Theme preference (light/dark/system)
Language preference (English/Chinese)
Playback mode (sequential/repeat/shuffle)

Audio Analysis Results:

Audio quality analysis data (Hi-Res/CD/Lossy detection)
Lossless verification results

How We Use Your Information

All data is used solely to provide the App’s core functionality:

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

All data is primarily stored on your device using iOS secure storage mechanisms (Core Data and the app’s Documents directory). This data is protected by your device’s security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).

iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync:

Music files are stored in your personal iCloud account
Sync is handled by Apple’s iCloud Documents
We do not have access to your iCloud data
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
You can disable iCloud sync anytime in the app’s Settings

No Server Storage

We do not operate servers. All data processing happens on your device.

Data Security

iOS built-in encryption protects local data
iCloud uses Apple’s security infrastructure
No data transmitted to third-party servers

Permissions We Request

DayMusic requests the following permissions to provide functionality. All permissions are optional - you can deny them and still use the app with limited features.

📁 File Access

Purpose: To import music files from your device How to control: Managed through the iOS file picker

What we do: Copy selected music files into the app’s Documents directory What we don’t do: Access files without your explicit selection

☁️ iCloud Permission (Optional)

Purpose: To sync your music files across your Apple devices How to control: Settings within the app → iCloud Sync

What we do: Use Apple’s iCloud Documents to sync music files What we don’t do: Access your iCloud data or store data on our servers

iCloud Documents: For optional music file synchronization (Apple Privacy Policy)

Open Source Software

FFmpeg (LGPL 2.1): Used for decoding APE and DSD audio formats. FFmpeg runs entirely on your device and does not transmit any data. Source code is available at https://ffmpeg.org.

No Analytics or Advertising

We do not use:

Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or any analytics services
Facebook SDK or social media tracking
Advertising networks or SDKs
Crash reporting services that collect personal data

We do not share your data with anyone.

Your Rights and Control

How to Delete Your Data

Delete specific songs: Long press on a song and select “Delete” Delete all data: Uninstall the app from your device iCloud data: Manage in Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → DayMusic

Data is retained on your device indefinitely until you choose to delete it
Deleting songs removes them from your device
Deleting the app removes all local data
iCloud data persists according to your iCloud settings and Apple’s policies
We do not retain any data on our servers (we have no servers)

International Users

DayMusic can be used worldwide. All data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account according to your iCloud region settings. We do not transfer data internationally because we do not collect data to our servers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons.
